ABOUT DAVID DIAZ
David was born to two hard working parents, Raquel and Jose Diaz, in Ensenada, Mexico. His family immigrated to the United States with a dream; to create a better life and new opportunities. He grew up in the communities of El Monte and South El Monte where he made some of his best friends, memories and met his wife. Inspired by his parents' relentless work ethic, David pursued higher education and became the first college graduate in his family, eventually receiving a Masters of Public Health from Claremont with one goal in mind: Come back and serve the communities that raised him. David Diaz is now a director at a nonprofit public health organization, which focuses on youth development, education and creating change in underrepresented communities like his own. He's a dedicated public servant with project management, coalition building experience who has successfully worked with youth, schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations and cities to advance education, equity and public health. As a South El Monte High School alumni, David wants to continue making a difference in his surrounding communities by channeling his education and serving on the high school board.
